I wanted to make something extra-special for Victoria's 20th birthday (eep! she's 20! She was only 8 yesterday...I promise!), and as we share a mutual love of Teen Girl Squad at Home Star Runner (the link's in my favourites list) I decided to make her something on that theme. Even though I made her mittens last year, I figured that by now she might probably need a new and improved set. So, I copied some images from the TGS cartoons and made her these:
(Whatsherface says "We're cool" and The Ugly One says "teehee")
And when you flip them over, they look like this:
(You TGS experts out there will probably remember this sequence from Episode #4, whereupon Whatsherface and The Ugly One get crushed, respectively, by an anvil and a sac o' potatoes.)
For those of you who aren't TGS experts, it's an online cartoon drawn by an online cartoon character named Strongbad, wherein Teen Girls foff about doing various Teen Girl Things (read: shopping, flirting, alienating), and ultimately end up killed in some random, product-of-an-angst-ridden-teenage-boy's-mind way, such as eating Pan-Asian Cuisine, only to be "MSG'D!!!," or being partially eaten by possums. It's all in good fun.
Anyway, back to the mittens. As you can see from the above pictures, there is a string attached that connects the mittens (through the sleeves of the jacket, JK style), and ALSO, because I am a very caring and diligent sister, these mittens are fleece-lined:
I loved them. I did not want to let them go. But I feel better about it now, because I think Victoria loved them too:
OK and also, I posted the mittens on Craftster, simply because I have been waiting MY WHOLE LIFE to post something on Craftster and finally!! hooray!! I can!! You can see them here.
Oh my those are sweet mits!! First I thought lined paper, then I thought Potatoes squished her!! Gasp!! I love it! On mits!! Very very nice.
